Saturday Morning by Rachael Yamagata

I started listening to Rachael Yamagata a decade back while living in Brooklyn. The memories... 'Be Be Your Love,' was on constant repeat. I love her sultry voice, as it's been described, the different styles of music she combines together, her lyrics, and the feel of it all. I found one interview of hers where she said, "she's able to say things in lyrics that she's not always comfortable speaking in conversation."

Some people are so so skilled at verbal communication. And others, they know how to communicate when there's music or art as the foundation. I think I fall in the latter at times, so her words definitely resonate. Is it that the emotions we sometimes try to convey get watered down with how we express words day to day? Maybe, because I'm surprised at what comes out of me through poetry or song that is probably somewhere deep in my subconscious, but not on the surface of my living. It's a beautiful thing, to find those words.

This song, "Saturday Morning," it's one sweet sentiment. Just wanting to spend time with a loved one and acknowledging how lucky two people are to have each other:

"Saturday morning and we got no other place to be
Baby, when you're lying in my arms we seem to fit so perfectly
Oh honey, honey, please just stay right next to me...

It's a little, it's a little luck, it's a little so oh, oh, oh, what
It's a little, it's a little love, it's a little love for what we've got..."

Enjoy the song...and damn, enjoy that Saturday morning if the opportunity arises:)
